The president of Russia, Vladimir Putin, admitted today to be “very worried” about the possible outbreak of a third World War due to the situation around Ukraine and Iran’s nuclear facilities. “I worry. I say it without any irony and without jokes. There is a great conflict potential that is growing (…), the conflict we suffer in Ukraine, what is happening in the Middle East and, of course, we are very concerned about what happens around Iran’s nuclear facilities,” he said during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, intervention broadcast live on television. All these conflicts “demand not only our attention (…), but also the search for solutions, decisions, preferably by peaceful means. I say it with absolute sincerity,” he said.
