Herman José suffered an appainted fall last Sunday, a few hours before taking the stage for a show in Lourinhã. The incident occurred in the dressing room, forcing the firefighters’ intervention, who sent him to the Torres Vedras hospital. Despite the severity of the situation, the show was not canceled.
After receiving medical care, the 71-year-old humorist returned to the event and fulfilled his commitment to the public, performing on stage for about an hour and a half. He rose in a wheelchair, his arm to his chest and a immobilized leg.
During the show, he explained with humor the origin of the accident: he fell from a chair, which he said, “he should have been bought at Tempu.” He also revealed that he had shifted a shoulder and broke the Achilles tendon.
Hugo Rodrigues Luz, collaborator and longtime friend, left a tribute on social networks, praising Herman Jose’s courage and professionalism: “After 33 years of admiration and more than 10 to work beside him, he could not imagine that he could respect him even more. After a total break of the Achilles tendon and a shoulder dislocation, he was more than an hour on stage.” He concluded with a well-disclaimed note: “There is no tendon, but there is joy!”
