Iran confirms attack on US bases in Iraq and Qatar

Iran confirmed, on Monday (23), an attack on the US military bases in Iraq and Qatar.

The US is monitoring multiple Iran’s fired missiles towards US military facilities in Qatar and Iraq, according to two officials familiar with the subject.

The Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, and the president of the joint staff, Dan Caine, are in the situation room, according to an employee of the White House.

A high employee said earlier that White House and Defense Department officials were monitoring possible threats of attack on the Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar.

President Donald Trump visited the base last month, being the first commander-in chief to do so since 2003. This is the largest US military installation in the Middle East.

“No visit to the Gulf would be complete nonstop to greet the people who keep the United States safe, strong and free,” Trump told the troops on May 17.
