Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatola Ali Khamenei, made his first public demonstration this Sunday (22/6) after the against the country. In a publication on Rede X, former Twitter, he promised retaliation against Israel.
The post came accompanied by the image of a skull with David’s star in the burning buildings. “Punishment continues. The Zionist enemy has made a serious mistake and is being punished right now,” he wrote.

On the same day, Iran’s Parliament approved a proposal to close the Ormuz Strait, a route that connects the Persian Gulf to the Arabian sea. The measure still depends on the approval of the Supreme National Security Council and Khamenei himself.
In addition, Tehran has ruled out new negotiations about his nuclear program, accusing diplomatic proposals of being only a “maneuver to deceive the international community.”
Donald Trump’s enigmatic publication
After the bombing carried out at dawn on Sunday against Iran’s nuclear facilities, US President Donald Trump indicated that a possible change of regime in the Persian country follows in his plans. Hours earlier, the Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, said the attacks “devastated” the Iranian nuclear program and called for local authorities to “seek peace.”
In a publication on social networks, Trump wrote: “It is not politically correct to talk about a change in regime, but if the current government cannot make Iran big again, why there would be no change of regime ??? Miga !!!”, pun with its campaign motto, “make the US big again” to the Iranian context: miga would be the acronym to “make the Iran again” in English.
