The calculation of whether the group accused of killing the lawyer who became a pivot of investigations into a court decision sales scheme was also responsible for another homicide.

“Days later, Marcelo da Silva’s body was found charred, inside a burned van, between the cities of Querência and Ribeirão Cascalheira. This premise, of course, needs to be better deepened in investigations.”
In his decision, Minister Cristiano Zanin says that “the police authority pointed to evidence of the connection” between members of the C4 and the deaths.
The Mato Grosso Civil Police, who opened an inquiry into Marcelo da Silva’s death, points out other suspicions about the crime, mentioning as possible suspicious military police and a motivation a land dispute and debts.
In a statement, Cushioni’s lawyers, Sarah Quinestti, Ronaldo Lara and Sérgio Figueiredo, say they have not yet had access to the inquiry records and that “the facts do not fit with any other homicide.”

“What also draws attention is the comment in which they assert that it was a ‘excellent acquisition of the platoon’, typical military language. And, when employing the expression ‘platoon’, they also say that other people also participate in the group’s actions.”
In the operation of the 28th, Minister Cristiano Zanin authorized five preventive arrests to be fulfilled, including Caçadini and Anibal, as well as searches and seizures and precautionary measures against other investigated.
