A global study by Transunion revealed that 40% of the population has already been the victim of fraud through emails, internet, telephone or text messages. The survey, which covered adults from 18 countries, showed that 29% of respondents suffered some kind of scam last year, with an average loss of $ 10,600. Generation Z, composed of born between 1997 and 2010, was the most affected, with 38% reporting that they were victims of fraud. In contrast, only 11% of Baby Boomers, born between 1946 and 1964, reported having fallen into blows. Brazil had a 5.4%digital fraud rate, above the global average, which highlights the country’s vulnerability to these threats. Recently, a mega data leakage exposed 16 billion passwords, highlighting the need for greater vigilance by surfing the internet. Experts warn of the importance of verifying the authenticity of websites before purchasing and being aware of suspicious calls.
