He told him (Supreme Court) that he did not contact the whistleblower after his release in May 2024.
The statement was made at a custody hearing on Thursday (19), by determination of the minister. The video of the hearing was released on Monday (23) by the Supreme.
“Since I was released on May 16th, I tried to follow all the precautionary measures that were imposed on me, including the one I am being accused of broken. I did not talk to the employee, not even by third parties,” said Câmara.
The colonel was arrested last Wednesday (18) accused of breaking precautionary measures that made him impossible to maintain contact with the other investigators of the coup plot, including through third parties.
It turns out that the chamber lawyer, Luiz Eduardo Kuntz, released last week from January to March 2024 by the Instagram network.
In the dialogue, the whistleblower allegedly tells details of his testimonials to the Federal Police and makes vent about the lack of support of his former allies.

Kuntz released the dialogue to argue that Lieutenant Colonel showed not having given the testimonials of his collaboration voluntarily. For him, this would be reason for the denunciation agreement to be invalidated by the Supreme.
In conversations, Kuntz asks questions for specific ICD about what he had said about Câmara to PF. “In your agreement, you had included leaving the camera out too or didn’t he?” He asked.
“I asked Dr Cezar to check this,” said Cid, referring to lawyer Cezar Bittencourt. “Because he had told me that he accepted everything.”
At the custody hearing, lawyer Luiz Eduardo Kuntz argued that the prison order should be considered null. This is because the conversations he kept with ICD occurred during the time when the camera was still in jail – being, therefore, the term of precautionary measures.
“Impossible that something that had not been defined or decreed until then has not complied. In this sense, I ask that the prison is revised, revoked its cautionary caution and the other precautionary measures, with an electronic anklet, is revoked,” he said.
Marcelo Câmara is a defendant at the STF for alleged participation in the coup plot. The reserve military man was a special advisor to former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL), a member of the group’s closest groups.
He is accused by the PGR (Attorney General of the Republic) of monitoring the location of Minister Alexandre de Moraes-of the targets of clandestine actions to enable the coup.
The defense of the Chamber formalized in the Supreme on Monday the request for release of the military. The decision is up to Moraes.
