That's how you save the shed swallowing. You only need one thing

Zamiokulkas gained the name of “iron plant” because it forgives errors in cultivation and is extremely resistant to drought. However, it is worth realizing how to water it properly so that he constantly releases new leaves. It also needs nutrients for proper growth. We present the most important rules for irrigation and fertilizing this specimen.

It tolerates dryness better than excess water. When pouring, the roots begin to rot and the leaves fall. Then the specimen is suitable for exaggeration.

That is why we should water it when the top layer of soil is completely dry. It’s best to check it with your finger to a depth of 2-3 cm.

Another signal that it is time to water the plant, are its slightly withered leaves. After hydration, they return to form. In the summer, it is recommended to irrigate every 2-3 weeks. The situation in winter is different, while the Zamiokulkasa rest. Then we water it every 4-6 weeks.

We use a soft, protruded water at room temperature for Zamiokulkas. We recommend such a boiled or rainwater that does not contain chlorine and calcium. Watering should be rare, but abundant – the water must reach the roots deeply.

Be careful not to soak the leaves. Otherwise, fungal diseases will develop. This plant should not be sprayed either.

If we want Zamiokulkas to release new leaves, then In addition to watering, it is also worth implementing a delicate, well -balanced fertilization. The plant needs minerals, i.e. nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and add -ons in the form of magnesium and iron.

Therefore, the specimen should be fed fertilizers intended for potted plants with low nitrogen content. We carry out this treatment in spring and summer. First, we use liquid nutrients for 2-3 weeks, and then for 6-8 weeks with long-lasting release.

We stop fertilizing Zamiokulkas in autumn and winter, when it retires. Thanks to this, it will develop healthy.

Remember not to overdo it with a power frequency. Then the leaves will be yellowing, shoots falling, root rot and the general deterioration of the condition of the plant.
