The Algarve Shoulder was officially inaugurated on June 18, assuming itself as a project of Potential National Interest (PIN), with relevant impact on the Portuguese economy and the sustainable luxury tourism sector. This new venture represents a new stage in the valorization of the territory, responsible investment and innovation in high -level hospitality.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Secretary of State for Tourism, Commerce and Services, Pedro Machado, who highlighted the project as “an example of how tourism can generate positive impact on local communities, preserve the identity of the territory and attract a more conscious and demanding visitor.”

The initiative brought together personalities such as Ilpo Kokkila and Timo Kokkila, president and member of the Board of Directors of the Points Group (main investor), Patrick Freeman (CEO of the Show), Daniel Ozzán (Director General of Viceroy at Ombria Algarve) and Arash Leardarzin (Highgate CEO). The conduct of the ceremony was up to journalist Carla Ascension, with bilingual interventions that underlined the international vocation of the project.
“A long -awaited day,” said Ilpo Kokkila, who highlighted the 20 -year commitment to Algarve and Portugal. He also stressed that the project was “thought to be integrated with the local community and in harmony with nature,” adding: “We want the shoulder to be a unique place, a welfare sanctuary that grows, renews and continuously renews the concept of residential and tourist environment of excellence in Portugal and southern Europe.”

The Shoulder Algarve offers a differentiated proposal that is part of Viceroy Residences, Oriole Village houses and exclusive Alcedo Villas, in a concept that combines privacy, comfort, nature and sophistication.
Patrick Freeman, CEO of the venture, stressed that “the project aspires to be an authentic destination of modern luxury, opened all year round, and that reinforces Portugal as a destination of excellence in the international panorama”, highlighting the concern with conscious growth, anchored in respect for the territory.

The event took place in a stunning natural scenario in the middle of Loulé and constituted a celebration of innovation and hospitality. The Viceceoy at Ombria Algarve Hotel presents itself as the new exponent of the luxury hotel with 141 bedrooms, five restaurants, holistic spa, conference center and a golf course awarded and certified by Geo Foundation.
The program included immersive experiences such as local handicraft market, musical and artistic performances, live painting, showcooking with resident chefs, yoga, astronomical observation and outdoor cinema. The event promoted an authentic connection between nature, well-being, creativity and sustainable luxury.

With a strong social and environmental commitment, the project prioritized the hiring of local talents and assumed carbonic neutrality at the inaugural event, compensating emissions with certified projects.
The Shoulder Algarve thus marks the beginning of a new chapter for the tourism and luxury real estate sector not only for the Algarve, but in Portugal, assuming itself as “a destination of excellence for those who seek to invest, live and experience the Algarve in a deep, elegant and responsible way”.
