Aneel approves transmission auction with 11 lots

Document, which estimates R $ 7.96 billion in investments, follows for analysis of the TCU; It is the only event scheduled for 2025

Aneel’s board of directors (National Electric Energy Agency) approved on Tuesday (24.Jun.2025) the draft auction notice No. 4/2025, which aims to hire energy transmission concessions. The objective of the auction is to grant the construction, operation and maintenance services of installations of the basic network of SIN (National Interconnected System) for 30 years. The trading session will be on October 31, 2025, at B3 (São Paulo Stock Exchange), and is the only one scheduled for the year.

The selection criterion will be the lowest rap (permitted annual revenue). The notice also provides for the reimbursement of previous studies to the companies responsible for the preparation of the projects.

Lots and location

11 lots will be offered:

  • Lot 1 (SP): Underground lines in the region of Miguel Reale and Centro.
  • LETE 2 (YB, PB, PI, PIN): 230 kV and 500 kV lines and substations.
  • Lot 3 (RS, PR): Substations and lines of 230 kV and 525 kV.
  • Lot 4 (MT, RO): Substation in Vilhena with synchronous compensation.
  • Lot 5 (GO): 230/138 kV lines and substations.
  • Lot 6 (MG): Two substations with synchronous compensators.
  • Lot 7 (SP): Underground lines between North and St. Michael.
  • Lote 8 (MS): Substation Iguatemi 2.
  • Lot 9 (SP): Dom Pedro I Substation.
  • Lote 10 (MT): Cuiabá Norte Substation.
  • LET 11 (RN): Substations Açu III and João Câmara III with synchronous compensations.

Part of the included assets were originally granted to MEZ Energia, whose expiration was recommended by Aneel. The facilities are expected to operate between August 2029 and February 2031, depending on the lot.

The consultation on the auction announcement and received suggestions until May 19.

AUCTION

The auction foresees investments of R $ 7.6 billion, considering the possible remedies. It also estimates the construction of 1,178 kilometers of new transmission lines and sectioning.

The projects will be distributed in 13 states: Goiás, Maranhão, Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Paraíba, Pernambuco, Piauí, Paraná, Sao Paulo, Rio Grande do Norte, Rondônia and Rio Grande do Sul. The deadlines for the execution of works range from 42 to 60 months.
