The former combatant of Paulo Figueiredo asked on Tuesday (24) to the Commission of the Chamber of Representatives of those who recommend sanctions against the minister, (Supreme Federal Court), in 30 days.
Figueiredo, who has lived in the US ten years, repeated the argument that Moraes goes beyond his duties and violates citizens’ rights on American soil, in a new investment against the magistrate. He figured as a witness in the session of the board who heard five other people of different nationalities about what would be transnational violations committed by agents from their countries.
“The US has powerful tools, such as the Magnistky Law. I have been I to recommend sanctions to Moraes in the next 30 days,” said the former combatant.
The testimony was provided before the committee’s co-president, Democrat James P. McGovern, in a dismantled session of congressmen. At certain times, the American deputy disagreed with the communicator about an alleged censorship and persecution of Opponents of Moraes.
Figueiredo’s hearing is part of the movement of allies of (), including Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP), so that the White House punishes the Supreme Member. The former president’s son even graduated from the mandate of federal deputy to live in the US.
The expectation of the Bolsonarists is that the President feet economic sanctions to the minister, which has not yet been fulfilled.
The former young Pan combatant called Moraes a “dictator disguised as a judge” and quoted other people in American territory that were targets of him, such as scholarship Allan dos Santos, as well as, owner of X (formerly), and Chris Pavlovski, Rumble CEO.
“Today, Moraes insults me by calling me fugitive. He claims that he has a secret warrant against me, and I was not formally convicted, and I don’t even know if my name is at Interpol,” he said on the commission.
Moraes cited the existence of the arrest warrant during a session at the Supreme Court and said the former combatant is on the run.
James McGovern disagreed with Figueiredo when the communicator approached the fake news inquiry and when he discussed the persecution of journalists and politicians in Brazil and the US.
In the first occasion, Figueiredo stated that the Supreme investigation is used by the Court as an instrument of persecution and repression of conservatives. At this point, the co-president stated that they would “agree to disagree” on the purpose of findings without deepening the matter.
In the second moment, McGovern said, after Figueiredo said he felt safe in American lands, to feel happy for the former combatant, but that he himself did not feel safe as a legislator, citing recent cases of police violence. The Brazilian questioned him, then, if there are politicians arrested in the United States, and the Democrat replied that yes.
Two weeks ago, Democratic Senator Alex Padilla was pushed out of a room, thrown on the floor and handcuffed by security agents on Thursday (12). He was trying to ask a question during a press conference by Internal Security Secretary Kristi Noem about protests in California.
Figueiredo was denounced by (Attorney General’s Office) accused of participating in the coup plot that would prevent the inauguration of the President (). Before, already investigated, had his passport canceled by Moraes.
Figueiredo gave testimony to the committee for the first time last year. This time, he said that if the US does not take an attitude against Moraes, Brazil can become “one”, referring to an authoritarian government, unlike democracy that prevails in the country.
