Coach Hernán Crespo was officially introduced in São Paulo.

This Tuesday (24), the Argentine coach gave the first press conference after returning to Tricolor.

In an event held at the Morumbis stadium, Crespo promised a competitive team for the rest of the season.

“There is no ‘magic formula’ for everything to work. The team will be competitive. I want to take advantage of the work left by Zubeldía to give the team an identity.”

He also stated that the years outside Sao Paulo made him improve as a coach.

In recent seasons, the Argentine commanded the Al-Duhail, from Qatar, and the al-ain.

In the UAE team, Crespo won the Asia Champions League, ensuring the club’s classification for what is being played in the United States.

“I won important titles in Qatar and the United Arab Emirates. This path brought me to. I’m the same person, but as a coach, I’m better than before. If this will make us win more? Well, I hope so,” he added.

Crespo signed a contract with Tricolor until December 2026 and will command the club following the Brazilian Championship, in the round of 16 of the Brazilian Cup and the Copa Libertadores de America.

Remember First Passage

In the first pass at Tricolor Paulista, Crespo had 57.2% of success and was marked by “taking” São Paulo from the title line, winning the Paulista Championship of 2021 by beating Palmeiras in the final.

He was disconnected from the club five months after the achievement, having led the team in 53 matches, with 24 wins, 19 draws and ten losses. At the time, he was replaced by Rogério Ceni.
