Israel claimed to have agreed with the proposal of ceasefire of US President Donald Trump after his military successes in Iran in a statement on behalf of the government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The statement – Israel’s first official comment on – said the country had achieved all its goals “and far beyond” after almost two weeks of attacks on Iran.
“Israel has eliminated an immediate and double existential threat – both in nuclear and ballistic missiles,” the statement said.
“In addition, Israel’s defense forces (IDF) have reached total air control over Tehran’s skies, struck a hard blow to Iranian military leadership and destroyed dozens of regime key targets in Iran.”
Israel thanked Trump and the US for his military support “in eliminating the Iranian nuclear threat.”
“Israel will firmly respond to any violation of the ceasefire,” the statement warned.
