The new organization of It will have 23 directors, against the current 30 directors and deputy directors, the board of directors announced that 97 workers came out of the voluntary exit plan on Tuesday.
In a statement to which Lusa had access, the agency led by Nicolau Santos states that “in the face of the objectives enrolled in the new strategic project for Triénio 2024-2026 and the huge challenges that the media face the board of directors (CA), after being careful, has come to the internal reorganization of RTP.”
Information direction was fired
This “urgent digital transition and increasingly necessary process optimization requires an increase in response capacity to new challenges in the management of public service,” says the statement, the same day that RTP’s information direction led by António José Teixeira was fired.
Thus, “with the implementation of the voluntary exit plan and the departure of about 97 workers, including four directors, CA decided to advance with a change in the RTP organogram, with the objective of making the company more efficient, rejuvenated and more prepared for transformations in the media industry” and “accelerating change with the implementation of the measures entered in the strategic project”.
In particular “with regard to digital transition and taking into account the recent media plan created by the government,” says Ca.
The RTP organogram is organized into four major areas of activity and will be subdivided into 28 directions instead of current 39: corporate (10), operations (4), thematic content (7) and programmatic content (7).
“Three CA support committees will be created, formed by people with different views and functions within RTP, which allow a strategic response to transverse topics,” says the administration.
In this new organization, “RTP now has 23 directors (with five accumulation directions) who compare with the current 30 directors and joint directors to report to the Ca”.
According to the Administration, the new responsible for the different directions “will propose the best approach and organization chart of their areas, in view of the objectives defined in the strategic project, and the human resources needs to be hired or to form”.
The Administration also states that for the implementation of the new organogram “the applicable legal procedures were fulfilled, namely as regards the CGI [Conselho Geral Independente] E to ERC [Entidade Reguladora para a Comunicação Social]”.
The reorganization is implemented from July 1, that is, next week.
