Czech President Petr Pavel assumes that Israel and Iran are not interested in the long -term continuation of the conflict, and today it is only to determine and subsequently enforce the conditions of the ceasefire. Paul said it on Tuesday before the NATO Summit in Hague. In his words, the statesmen will talk about the need to increase the abilities of the Alliance’s states, but also of the need for continuing support for Ukraine, informs the TASR newsletter in Prague.

Paul: Israel and Iran are not interested in the long -term continuation of the conflict

“I assume that the US allies will bring us closer to the current situation as they see. It will certainly be an effort of everyone to appeal to the participants of the conflict so that the ceasefire that was announced is also observed,” Pavel said in response to the current situation in the Middle East. According to him, no one wants another big conflict. He stressed that this would significantly complicate the security and economic situation around the world.

“I assume that both Israel and Iran are not interested in the long -term continuation of the conflict, and it is just that the conditions of the ceasefire are clearly established and then enforced. As I had the opportunity to hear representatives of both parties, they do not insist on the continuation of the conflict and the ceasefire condition that the attacks end the other party,” Pavel said.

The US involvement in conflict is a manifestation of frustration

The fact that the United States was involved in the Israeli attack on Iran is an expression of their frustration from the ongoing negotiations, when the Iranian officials, according to Paul, “led the United States long behind the nose” when they claimed to be interested in negotiations while just getting time to be able to move in the nuclear program. He added that this is not in the interest of not only Israel or the US, but all democratic countries of the world.

According to Paul, the leaders would like to agree at the NATO summit, which starts on Tuesday in the Netherlands on Tuesday, in particular on the need to increase defense expenses so that alliance countries are able to respond to security threats, especially the aggressive behavior of Russia in Europe. “We have to take seriously all his statements and threats from the last weeks and months, and that is why I think it is completely appropriate to talk about how and in what time horizon we will increase our armies’ abilities, but also how we will increase the abilities of our defense industry,” added the Czech President.
