Rio will have a 4 -day holiday due to the BRICS summit

Rio de Janeiro Municipal Public Servants will have four days off at the beginning of July. This Monday (23), the acting mayor, Eduardo Cavaliere (PSD), decreed optional point on July 4, a Friday, due to the BRICS summit that will be held in the city.

The measure does not apply to professionals who work in essential services, who should maintain their activities normally.

The optional point adds to the holiday already scheduled for July 7, a Monday, according to the previous decree of Mayor Eduardo Paes (PSD). With this, the office hours of municipal servants will be suspended between July 4th and 7th.

The decision was published in the Official Gazette of the Municipality and mentions the need to ensure the safety, mobility and flow of traffic in the regions impacted by the official commitments of the summit. It is also mentioned the intention to reduce the circulation of people and vehicles in the areas near the events of the events.

A It will be held on July 6 and 7 at the Museum of Modern Art (MAM), in Flamengo Park, South Zone of Rio. Will participate in the heads of state of the member countries of the Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Ethiopia, United Arab Emirates and Iran.

Brazil has been holding the Rotary Presidency of BRICS since January this year.
