SHMI warns of tidal floods: Meteorologists issued a 2nd degree warning

In the district of Čadca there is a stinged flood. The Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute (SHMI) therefore issued a second level hydrological warning. Informs about it on his website.

“Given the expected storms in storms, we assume a temporary significant local rise in water levels, especially on small streams, with the possibility of achieving and exceeding aquatic conditions corresponding to the degree of flood activity,” The meteorologists reported.

SHMI at the same time on the social network explained that The storm system is currently progressing to central Slovakia and still brings wind with impacts of 70 to 90 kilometers per hour, in storm cores also tidal rain and hail. Over the next few hours, it will gradually move above Eastern Slovakia. “However, this storm system is not directly on the cold front. It is related to storms in Moravia, which should reach us in a few hours, but already with weaker accompanying phenomena,” said the Institute.
