O this Monday (24) holds a conciliation hearing to deal with a fraud scheme in undue discounts in the benefits of . The fraud, which occurred between 2019 and 2024, generated a loss of over R $ 6 billion and led more than 65 thousand retirees and pensioners to trigger the courts. The session, conducted by Minister Dias Toffoli, rapporteur of the case, seeks to create a schedule for the compensation of the victims and to avoid mass judicialization of cases. Representatives of the Union, the INSS, the Public Defender of the Union (DPU) and the Federal Prosecutor’s Office (MPF) participate in the hearing.

The Attorney General of the Union (AGU) proposed a plan for direct compensation to the victims, which would include the opening of an extraordinary credit outside the spending ceiling to fund the return of the amounts. The proposal also suggests the suspension of the prescription period of lawsuits until a definitive solution is implemented.

After the hearing, the federal government budget board is expected, formed by the Ministries of Finance, Planning and the Civil House, defines how the reimbursement plan will be integrated into the budget, confirming whether the payment will be made via extraordinary credit.
