US authorities rescue 60 children victims of human trafficking in Florida

The United States Marshal Service was involved in the rescue of childrenwhich were given as missing and were comprised among the 9 and 17 yearssaid Marshal William Berger.

Florida authorities and US Marshal Service saved 60 missing children, suspected of being victims of trafficking, resulting in one of the “biggest” rescues in the country, Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier said.

Operation Dragon’s Eye, which Lasted about two weeks In the Bay Lid area in downtown Florida, it resulted in eight arrests from individuals accused of human trafficking, child neglect, possession and drug trafficking, the US Attorney’s office said.

“If they victimize children, they go to prison, end of history,” Uthmeier said at a press conference.

The operation also involved the provision of physical and psychological support to children, who were given as missing and were comprised among the 9 and 17 yearssaid Marshal William Berger.

The mission was led by the US Marshal Service, known as US Marshals Service, a department of federal security forces, with the help of 20 other state and federal agencies.

“Sixty children saved, this number sends the message that Florida will never be a safe place for traffickers,” said Mak Glass, commissioner of the Florida Law Application Department (FlDE, in the English acronym).
