Caoa closes Hyundai production in Goiás and Mira New Asian Brands, says Portal

CAOA will stop manufacturing Hyundai cars in Brazil, with the end of production at the Anápolis Factory (GO) expected to occur between October and November this year, according to information from the portal UOL.

As a result, models such as New Tucson and HR truck will no longer be produced locally, marking the end of a nearly 20 -year partnership that resulted in over 500,000 vehicles manufactured.

According to the UOLthree Asian brands sought CAOA to produce vehicles at the Goiás factory, with the Chinese Dongfeng, Changan and Baic among the main competitors to occupy the space.

CAOA will continue to produce Chinese Chery vehicles in the country. By 2027, Caoa Chery should produce in Anápolis a diesel pickup and Tiggo 9 SUV, as well as maintaining the production of the current Tiggo 8, Tiggo 7 and Tiggo 5x.

The Anápolis factory will also be expanding, with an increase of 36,172 m², totaling more than 208 thousand m² of built area.

The site also received a new stage of robotization, with equipment that was used in the former Ford factory in Bahia.

In addition, productive capacity should double from 80,000 to 160,000 vehicles per year, with an investment of R $ 3 billion in research and development.
