It launched, on the morning of Wednesday (25), Operation Augusta to dismantle a scheme of corruption and leakage of confidential information involving public and private agents. The action is carried out in conjunction with (Gaeco) of the Public Prosecution Service of the State of São Paulo and has the support of the Military Police and the Corregedoria of the Civil Police of the State of São Paulo. In all, three pre -trial detention warrants and nine search and seizure warrants are being served. The orders were issued by the São Paulo judiciary. The findings indicate that the investigators were illegally fostered people investigated in criminal investigations, upon payment of improper advantages.
Among the crimes found are the irregular filing of police procedures, the clandestine transfer of information protected by confidentiality and the illicit intermediation and presentation of false documents for the restitution of seized goods. One of the investigated episodes involves the attempt to restrain a helicopter – a fact that gave rise to the name of the operation. The aircraft, valued at high value, was blocked by the court with other assets and resources that can add $ 12 million. Investigated may be responsible for crimes such as active and passive corruption, violation of functional confidentiality, breach of bank secrecy and administrative law. Investigations are still in progress under confidentiality.
