The police warn the occurrence of fraudulent e-mails in which the senders are unlawfully issued as the Ministry of the Interior of the Slovak Republic. These messages usually pretend to be an official call for payment of fines and contain fictional fine number, fake exposure date and alleged reference to paying. The aim of the perpetrators is to obtain personal or payment information from the addressees fraudulently. TASR informed the spokesman of the Presidium of the Police Force Roman Hajek.
He explained that Such e-mails may contain a manipulative text in an effort to raise concerns about increasing a fine or further action.
Police calls on citizens to get In case of suspicious emails, they verified their authenticity through official channels. It emphasizes that the Ministry of the Interior and the police are not sending calls for payment of fines by e-mail from domains such as “@fiscalrize.email” or other untrustworthy addresses.
“If you have received such an email, do not click on any links and do not give your personal or payment information. If you are doubt, check the information directly with the relevant institution or department,” Appeals police. She added that if someone has been the victim of such a fraud, he should announce this at number 158 or at the nearest police department.
