Senate MDB leader Eduardo Braga (AM) said it was likely a vote on Wednesday, 25, of the project that overturns the decree that increases tax rates on Financial Operations (IOF). According to him, however, the analysis will depend on the end of the vote in the House.
“A vote is likely, but we depend on there,” he said, referring to the deputies. Braga is an ally of the President of the Republic, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT).
The senator stated that there is no definition of the “limit time” of approval in the House for inclusion in the Senate today.

Earlier in the morning, Alcolumbre met with Senate government leader Jaques Wagner (PT-BA). The meeting was held hours after the mayor, Hugo Motta (Republicans-PB), announce that he would guide the Legislative Decree project on Tuesday.
Voting in both houses would represent a setback for the Lula administration. Published on May 22, the initial text of the decree increased the IOF for credit operations for companies and in private pension plans. After resistance from part of the congress, the government retreated and reduced the changes contained in the text.
