Flamengo and Bayern Munich will face each other in the round of 16 Clubs this Sunday (06/28), at 17h (Brasília). This, however, will not be the first match between the Brazilian club and the Germans.
They have already faced each other in 1994, with a 3-1 Red-Black victory. The match was played by the Shah Alam Mitsubishi Invitation tournament, or more popularly, Kuala Lumpur tournament in Malaysia. There were six teams, divided into two groups of three.
In the final of the competition, Fla left behind with a penalty goal by Jean-Pierre Papin. In the penalty, goalkeeper Adriano was sent off, leaving the team with one less.
However, Flamengo reacted. Still in the first half, defender Rogério tied. In the second stage, midfielder Marquinhos became the game after 30 minutes. Already at 45, Sávio closed the marker.
