Commentator Caio Coppolla and the lawyer and professor of constitutional law, Alessandro Soares, discussed, on Tuesday (24), in The Great Debate (Monday to Friday at 11 pm) if the conflict between Israel and Iran has a winner.

After the ceasefire between the two countries, both Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and the Iranian President, Masoud Pezeshkian, said Vitória.

For Coppolla, humanity is the biggest winner.

“With the atomic weapon by a genocidal, theocratic and militarized regime, you would have a climb of the arms race in the region. Probably other countries in the Middle East would look for the development of your bomb and you would have a proliferation of mutual destruction capacity,” he said.

“The peaceful point is that the Iranian nuclear threat has been disturbed. Certainly there will be a delay in any plan in the sense that this happens,” he concluded.

Alessandro believes it is not yet possible to say who the winner is.

“Many people analyze that the problems that fundamentally led to ceasefire would be internal and non-external political situations, but I want to draw attention to the external issue,” he said.

“The conflict was paralyzed by external reasons for a geopolitical analysis, passing through the United States, passes through Israel, passes through Iran, passes through BRICS. […] This is a fundamental element to come to the conclusion that we now have a situation of temporary pacification and that we do not know what the scenario will be going forward, ”he continued.
