Hague (Reuters)-US President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that the US did not give up its maximum pressure on Iran-including restrictions on Iranian oil sales-but signaled possible flexibility in the application to help the country rebuild.
“They will need money to put the country back in shape. We want to see this happen,” Trump said at a press conference at the Western Military Alliance Summit organization of the North Atlantic Treaty (NATO) when asked if he was flexing the sanctions on Iran’s oil.
Trump said a day before China could continue to buy Iranian oil after Israel and Iran agreed with a ceasefire, but the White House clarified later that its comments did not indicate a relaxation of US sanctions.
