Last year, more than 1,000 such calls were made; objective is to expand services also to the metropolitan region
A new partnership was established on Tuesday (24) between (UNUR) and (AMLB), with the objective of expanding free health care for refugees and migrants in São Paulo. This initiative emerges as a response to the growing demand for health services among people who arrived in São Paulo from other countries and who are vulnerable. Last year, more than 1,000 such calls were performed, and the goal now is to expand these services not only in the capital, but also in the metropolitan region.
The commitment signed between the two entities provides for the mobilization and training of cultural mediators, in order to make the service more humanized and individualized. The idea is that these mediators, with knowledge in different cultures, can provide care in the source language of patients, providing a better experience and understanding of each one’s needs.
In addition, the partnership seeks to improve service systematization and data management, facilitating access to information and streamlining the process for those who return to service. With a more efficient data system, it will be possible to follow the patient’s health history more accurately, ensuring continuity in treatment and improving the quality of care provided.
