Wintour has been a force in the fashion industry for decades, with its remarkable presence in the front row of the parades of the largest designers in the world. His look and behavior largely inspired the character of the editor-in-chief in the book and movie “The Devil Wears Prada”. The magazine’s autumn fashion edition was the theme of the 2009 documentary, “The Septmber Issue”.

As Condé Nast Content Director, Wintour supervises all brands globally – including Wired, Vanity Fair, GQ, AD, Condé Nast Traveler, Glamour, Bon Appétit, Tatler, World of Interiors, Allure and others, except for New Yorker. All are part of the Newhouse family media empire.

The change was initially reported by the Times of London, who reported that Wintour will leave the position of editor-in-chief of Vogue American after 37 years.
