The federal deputy (-SP) has asked the MPF (Federal Prosecutor) to investigate Vibra Energia, formerly BR Distribuidora, for increasing the price charged by fuel in the bombs while it has it.
In the letter, signed on Wednesday (25), the deputy says that, since 2023, when (PT) assumed the presidency, Petrobras sold at 9%, but, in contrast, the average price of the liter rose 26% in the period. He argues that this only occurred after, during the government (), becoming vibrary energy.
“The difference between the price practiced by the state and the amount charged to the consumer can be explained in part by increasing the profit margin of distributors and gas stations. From January 2023 so far, it has grown at least 10%, according to data from the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME),” the document says.
Boulos adds that the country’s fuel distribution market is currently controlled by a “small group of private companies” and that this can be characterized as a cartel and oligopoly, with possible artificial increase in price.
According to the document, the fact that many gas stations still keep the Logo BR Distribuidora, “a private capital company with no relation to Petrobras” has misleading consumers, who associate the brand with Petrobras.
The deputy asks the MPF to investigate any crimes against the popular economy committed by fuel distribution companies as well as crimes against consumer relations committed by Vibra for continuing using the BR distributor in gas stations.
