“I am evangelical, I always made it clear that I am a conservative. But I never defended political agenda. Now, if I defend a conservative theme, automatically the press makes me paste this image with any candidate, conservative politician. Then it gives the impression that I am talking about that candidate. No, I am talking about a subject, that is or other issues,” he said.
However, he has already been punished for participating in a service alongside Bolsonaro and published a photo hand in hand with Wilson Witzel on the inauguration day as governor of Rio de Janeiro in 2019. Bretas says the events he attended alongside Witzel and Bolsonaro were official.

The magistrate said he was not disappointed with the little political support received after the punishment. Only Senator (-PR), former Lava Jato Judge of Curitiba, spoke publicly.
