Canadian director Denis Villeneuve, known for works as DunAE Blade Runner 2049It was confirmed by Amazon MGM Studios as responsible for the direction of the upcoming James Bond franchise movie. The information is from Variety.
The announcement marks a giant streaming giant in a prestigious filmmaker to conduct the renewal of the British spy saga.
Villeneuve, who says she grew up watching James Bond movies with her father, stated that taking the direction of the feature is an honor and great responsibility.

“Bond is sacred territory for me. I intend to honor tradition and make way for many new missions,” said the director.
Villeneuve’s choice comes after Amazon acquires creative franchise control in a historic agreement with the original producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson.
Since the purchase of MGM in 2021, Amazon had distribution rights, but only recently consolidated its position to artistically manage future films in the series.
