The mayor, Hugo Motta (Republicans-PB), stated that the vote on the project that overthrew the decree that increases the IOF “represents the feeling of the house” and that each power has to “understand the limit”, in a critique of the Planalto Palace.
At the same time, Motta tried to minimize the crisis and refused to be discredited with the government.
“There is nothing to explain, there is the result of the vote, is the feeling of the house. There is no discomfort, these things are placed and each power has to understand its limit, is democracy,” said Motta after the end of today’s session of the house.

Motta said he has not met with anyone from the government since he decided to guide the matter, but if he is sought, he will talk to members of the Executive Power.
The project that overthrow the Executive Branch measure was approved by a large margin in the House, with 383 favorable votes and 98 against. Already in the Senate the vote was symbolic, without the nominal registration of the votes.
The twists around the IOF have already yielded three different decrees on the subject. The first was published on May 22 and raised the rate of various operations.
