From the article “The End of History” by Francis Fukuyama, Rui Tavares draws a vision of history, the stories, from the philosopher’s thesis that stated that in 1989 democratic liberalism and capitalism may have already marked the end of the sociocultural evolution of humanity, also referenced philosophers Ray Kurzweil and Toby Ord, a theory begun in the nineteenth century by by Georg Hegel

With three distinct visions about what would be, after all, “the end of history,” Rui Tavares talks about what it really means, the end of everything, and how many ends there are for history.

By diving into the stories that anticipate the great history of the twentieth century, Rui Tavares proposes to the exercise of thinking what today’s Europe would be like, 100 years after this seemingly insignificant year and, above all, warns us to the similarities of our year 2025.
