It is increasingly talking about the “beer revolution zero percent”, which is part of a global trend called “Nolo” (no-alcohol, low-alcohol), consisting of consuming drinks with zero alcohol content or low-alcohol beverages, e.g. radler. Like 30 years ago, Poles were massively switched from drinking vodka to a low -salish beer, so now they give up completely from percentages, choosing a zero percent beer.
Is 0.0% beer zero alcohol?
Until recently, there were only non -alcoholic beers on the market, which had 0.5% alcohol content, which is in line with the regulations. However, currently non -alcoholic beers is practically 0.0%beers. Is there really no alcohol in them? It can be assumed that there is no, because it is only detected for the most sensitive laboratory devices. Such beers contain 10 times less alcohol than e.g. kefir or pickled cucumber. Research shows that Zero beers are making a sensation, and the growth rate of this segment accelerates. Two -thirds of Polish women and Poles reach for them regularly in different circumstances: during meetings with friends, grilling or at a picnic, party or after training. Over half believes that they are a good alternative to alcoholic beverages, values them for the taste and chooses their known brands.
Safe alternative
0.0% beer replaces drinks with alcohol not only in Poland. For example, in Spain, research was carried out, which show that those households that began to buy non -alcoholic beers not only reduced the shopping of beer with alcohol, but at all limited the purchases of wine and strong alcohol, and as much as O14%. Zero beer therefore contributes to reducing total alcohol consumption. In turn, the German government agenda Bzga (Bundeszentrale für Gesundheitliche Aufklärung) promotes responsible consumption, encouraging to reach for non -alcoholic beer in situations such as a football match or family gatherings. He emphasizes that beers marked as as a as0.0% are a safe alternative.
Do zeros encourage you to leave the world of alcohol?
Non -alcoholic beers is almost always zeros, i.e. drinks with alcohol content less than in wholemeal bread. Looking for alcohol in them is like looking for sugar in cola zero. They cannot be drunk in any way or even feel after their consumption of alcohol, so as not to mention the risk of addiction. What’s more, beer producers clearly emphasize that the world of beer is the world of adults, marking kindergarten with the sign “18+” and training sellers so that they do not sell minors alcoholic beverages. We see beers 0.0% more and more often on store shelves, restaurants or at music festivals. Their availability gives an alternative and makes it easier to give up alcohol. It is not surprising, therefore, that their consumption increased by 17.4%, while the overall sales of beer fell by 1.7%. Data from the beginning of the current season confirm this trend – beer with alcohol loses the market, beer without alcohol gains. There are many indications that the upcoming summer will bring record sales of beer in variants without alcohol.
Data on the Polish market come from the “Zerówka zeros change. The revolution 0.0% continues”, issued by the Association of Employers of the Piwowarski Industry Polish Browary. Data on Spain – from a study commissioned by Sicidrogalcohol – the equivalent of the Polish KCPU.
Alcohol consumption among young people falls
It is often heard that zeros are designed to get used to consumers to taste beer and encourage you to reach for alcoholic beverages, especially in relation to young people. Meanwhile, the latest research on the intake of tanking by high school students (ESPAD examination) shows that alcohol consumption among adolescents is systematically decreasing, mainly due to the clear reduction of beer consumption. In addition, young adults, people aged 18–29, are the largest group of consumers of non -alcoholic beers and most often declare their alcohol resignation.
