“It would be an honor,” said Welfare Minister; Commission must be installed next semester

The Minister of Social Security, Wolney Queiroz, declared on the Wednesday to be willing to testify at CPMI (Mixed Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry) of the INSS (National Institute of Social Security). The commission was created to investigate fraud that resulted in an estimated loss of R $ 6 billion to the public coffers.

“It will be an honor to return to the House and the Senate”, told the minister to CNN. Queiroz pointed out to have previously participated in hearings in the Federal Senate and the House of Representatives, remaining 5 hours in each Legislative House.

The minister also maintained that the government “It must act with all transparency to elucidate the facts and show responsibilities.”

The INSS CPMI was officially created on June 17, with the request of the request in the National Congress session. It was the 1st step for the installation of the works that aim at the billionaire fraud scheme of the public pension system. The request received 293 signatures, 44 of the Senate and 249 of the Chamber.

The commission installation, however, should be for the next semester. Congress enters an informal recess by early July because of the St. John’s parties and is expected to resume work with a tight schedule until the recess on July 18.

CPMI became one of the main opposition fronts in Congress against the President (PT).

Initially, the governors were against the installation of the commission, but changed the strategy after the application gains traction and decided to join the agenda to try to alleviate the wear for petista management.

The movement was criticized by the congressmen. The Senator (PP-SC), for example, said that the mechanism is an opposition assignment and that it is not up to the government “Appropriate” of space.
