Ukrainian forces managed to immobilize 50,000 Russian troops, including elite brigades in Sumy
In April, Zelensky feared that Putin was preparing a great summer offensive from Sumy. The Ukrainian forces managed to wage the advances in that region, but now South Korea does not bring good news
The Ukrainian forces managed to wage the advances of the Russian forces in the Sumy region, Oleksadr Syrsky, commander of the Ukraine Armed Forces, announced.
Defining the Sumy region with “one of the main priorities” at the moment for the Ukrainian forces, Syrsky reveals, in a message on Telegram, that “the Russian advances were locked this week and the front line was stabilized.”
The commander even says that the Ukrainian forces have managed to “immobilize about 50,000 Russian troops, including aerial and elite sea brigades” in some places of pivnichnoslobozhansky and Kursk.
In April, the Russian forces opened a combat front in Sumy, northeast of Ukraine, claiming that they intend to create a “safety zone.” The region was however targeted by several Russian attacks, with the army mobilizing thousands of soldiers to the border near Sumy, which led the Ukrainian President to Temer that Russia was preparing a summer offensive in Ukraine.
However, the Ukrainian forces began to recover ground and, on the 14th, Volodymyr Zelensky announced the release of Andriivka village near the border in the Sumy region. “Our units in Sumy are gradually retreating occupants,” said the Ukrainian President.
But the summer offensive feared by Zelensky may be there to come. South Korean secret services warn that North Korea may be preparing to send more soldiers to combat Russia against Ukraine in July or August.
According to the South Korea National Information Service, Russia may be preparing to set up a large-scale attack, calling more North Korean soldiers to this purpose, without knowing the number of troops highlighted by Pyongyang.
In return, according to South Korean secret services, North Korea will be receiving technical advice on satellite launches and missile orientation systems.
