Ukrainian President Volodymyr Greenable on Wednesday said that at a meeting with US President Donald Trump they discussed the purchase of American air defense systems to protect Ukrainian cities, people, temples or infrastructure. The meeting of these presidents took place to the margins of NATO summit in the Hague, TASR writes according to AFP report.
Greens on the X Network reported that he and Trump discussed the protection of people and buying American defense systems. “Ukraine is ready to buy this equipment and support US weapons manufacturers. Europe can help. We have also talked about possible common production of unmanned aircraft. We can strengthen each other,” wrote Greeny on social networks.
Russian attacks on Ukraine
According to AFP, Russia has intensified its attacks on Ukraine and broadcasts hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles almost daily, with these attacks bringing civilian victims, destroying houses and infrastructure.
The Russian rocket and drone attack in the Dnepropetrov region on Tuesday killed 21 people and more than 300 more injured.
The Ukrainian president also informed Trump about Russian-Ukrainian interviews in Istanbul, as well as the exchange of prisoners and fallen soldiers. Zelenskyj said that Russia handed over to the bodies of the fallen and the bodies of its troops during exchanges. According to him, forensic examinations are currently underway to identify bodies.
A greens’ meeting with Trump

Iran and Russia have been working intensively in the military field in recent years. Kiev and West blame Tehran for providing Russia’s drones for war in Ukraine. Iran has repeatedly rejected these accusations and claims that he did not stand on any side of the conflict.
Wednesday’s meeting of Trump and Greenland took about 50 minutes and it was the first personal interview between the leaders of Ukraine and the United States since April 26, when they had a short interview before the funeral of the Pope Francis in the Vatican.
Different statements about the ceasefire
The Ukrainian President said in the previous post on the X network of the meeting that it was long and important and that he discussed with Trump about a ceasefire in Ukraine.
The White House chief, however, denied at the subsequent press conference after the NATO summit that they would talk to Zelera about the ceasefire. He claims he just wanted to find out how the Ukrainian President is doing.
During the conference, he also answered the question of whether the United States are ready to sell Ukraine Patriot air defense systems. He did not rule out this option, but he said he would find out if the US could make any patriots available.
