Lucas William Ribeiro Costa was born on October 9, 1998 and is 26 years old. Although he is born in Santa Helena, Maranhão, he never played professionally in Brazilian football.

The athlete started in the base categories of Moto Club, Maranhão, and then acted for Pinheiro, also from Maranhão.
The player, however, moved to Valerciennes of France, where he began his career in 2018, although he made only one game for the team.
In 2019 he moved to Virton from Belgium, where he scored 4 goals in 8 games and attracted attention from larger clubs. Still in Belgium, he went on loans to Waasland -Beveren, RWDM47 and Mouscron, showing versatility and goal bearing, before firming in Charleroi (2020–22).

In 2022–23, he shone at Beveren with 13 goals in 43 games. In July 2023, he was hired by Mamelodi Sundowns, where he stressed scoring goals and assisting, helping the club win the title of the South Africa Championship in the 2023/24 season.
