The National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel) announced on Friday (30) that the red flag is maintained 1 to July 2025, which implies an additional $ 4.46 charge for every 100 kWh consumed.
According to the agency, the volume of water that reaches the reservoirs is below average, which compromises the hydroelectric generation and presses energy costs.
“The continuity of the lower -average influential scenario throughout the country reduces hydroelectric power generation. This picture tends to raise power generation costs due to the need to drive more costly sources for generation, such as thermoelectric plants,” the regulatory agency argued.
. With the highest fare, Aneel recommends that measures be adopted to reduce power consumption and thus prevent a greater impact on accounts.
“Aneel reinforces the importance of awareness and responsible use of electricity. Energy saving also contributes to the preservation of natural resources and the sustainability of the electricity sector as a whole,” the agency said.
About the tariff flags
Created by Aneel in 2015, the tariff flag system informs consumers the variable costs of power generation in Brazil.
It considers factors such as the variable cost of energy production, availability of water resources and the triggering of thermoelectric plants, which are more expensive.
With this system, the consumer has more control over his energy bill. For example, knowing that the flag is red, it can reduce consumption to save money.
