They are not suitable for all gardens. All because they grow well only on acidic substrate, and they are not resistant to drought and temperature fluctuations due to the tile root system. In addition, they hate the lying water occurring in most lands in Poland. Their alternative is the Clemary Yarrow with a similar appearance, but with much smaller requirements, which everyone will meet.

Clealy yarrow is a perennial plant from the family of yellies. Naturally, moist meadows and the edges of water reservoirs in Poland. Grows up to 100 cm high. It is characterized by erected habit and woody rhizome.

The stems of this plant are angular and crucial. Stiff and dense leaves grow on them, sometimes short branches also appear.

However, her inflorescences resembling ears are the most impressivereaching up to 30 cm long. They have an intense purple-pink color and attract not only looks, but also useful insects, i.e. butterflies, bees and bumblebees. All because of the beautiful smell.

Clealy yarrow blooms from July to Augustalthough it may happen that it will release phenomenal flowers out of season, namely in June and September.

This beautiful plant is cheap. One seedling costs from 5 to 8 PLN. We will buy it in nurseries or garden centers. Nothing prevents you from breeding the specimen by dividing older clumps or seeds.

Coil -area can be planted in both sunny and semi -shaded position. Unlike heathers, it tolerates transitional excess water well, which is why it prefers moist soil. It will be best to grow on fertile and humus, although it will also cope on poor ground.

In hot weather, it is worth watering this plant regularly. It is able to survive without water, but it will bloom less and will not grow to the right size.

The big advantage of common yarrow is that It is resistant to low temperatures, diseases and pests. We recommend scattering litter around it to limit the development of weeds and maintain an adequate moisture level in the ground.

We don’t have to fertilize this specimen often. In the season, it is enough to feed it with compost or organic fertilizer twice.

However, it is worth carrying it out. In early spring, dried shoots should be removed above the ground. We also remove faded inflorescences to prevent spontaneous seeding of seeds. In turn, cutting after flowering stimulates it again, but not so abundant release of flowers in autumn.
