Autopsy reveals that Brazilian tourist died 20 minutes after a volcano fall in Indonesia

According to doctors, Juliana Marins suffered trauma by forceful strength

The autopsy of Brazilian Juliana Marins, who died in Indonesia, concluded that the cause of death was trauma by forceful force, which resulted in damage to internal organs and extensive bleeding. Forensic findings indicate that death occurred in a very short period after the injuries, highlighting the sudden nature of death.

According to the coroner, the death of Juliana Marins was “immediately” after trauma, with an estimate of no more than 20 minutes after the most severe injury. No evidence has been found that the victim died after a long time since trauma.

The forceful force is defined as the impact of any object with relatively flat and solid surface. Abrasion and sliding lesions (“Luka Lecet Geser” in Indonesian) observed in the body are compatible with a fall.

The exams revealed multiple fractures and injuries spread throughout the body, including internal organs in the chest and abdomen. The most severely affected area was the trunk/column region, which suffered injuries that compromised the internal organs related to breathing. Although there were injuries to the head, the most critical, which added the effect of the other injuries, were those of the back of the trunk.

The possibility of hypothermia as the cause of death was discarded due to the nature of the lesions and the large amount of bleeding found.

Although the autopsy is considered provisional until the completion of toxicological examinations – a standard procedure that takes about two weeks and does not indicate suspected substances involved – the main cause is already established.

The estimated time of death, based on signs such as life and cadaverous rigidity, was between 12 and 24 hours before the exam, but prior manipulations, such as freezer conservation, can influence this estimate.
