The Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic strongly rejects claims on the alleged carrying of works of art from the premises of the Slovak National Museum (SNM) in Martin during a visit to the Secretary General of the Service Office Lukáš Machala. The reaction to the information of the news portal was provided by TASR Director of the Communication Department of the Ministry of Culture Petra Bačinská.
According to the source of the news, several dozen people were accompanied by Machala during a visit to Martin. “This visit was made in accordance with the competences of the State Secretary and without the presence of the parade. No works of art have been taken from the visit of the visit and there is no claim on the truth of the removal of the objects of high value or suspicion of a crime,” Bačinská said.
The Ministry of Culture asks the media to refrain from spreading unsubstantiated information that is not verified from official sources and are based solely on anonymous and unverified claims. “The spread of such reports that can cause serious concerns, encourage distrust of public institutions, or encourage hatred of specific persons, we consider it extremely irresponsible and socially dangerous,” added Bačinská.
