The Indian and Chinese government is looking for a permanent resolution of disputes over the Himalayan borders. Defense Ministers met at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
Indian Defense Minister Radžnáth Singh said on Thursday at a meeting with his Chinese departmental colleague Tung Tung, Tunga that the governments of both countries should find a “permanent solution” of their long -term dispute over the form of mutual borders. They met in the Chinese city of Čing-TAO in addition to the Ministers of Defense Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SOS). According to Reuters, TASR reports this.
The Indian Ministry of Defense said that departmental colleagues agreed on addressing the issues between the two countries through a structured plan.
The two most populous states of the world have a common border in the Himalayas 3800 kilometers long, which is largely unlimited and disputed. The countries for border disputes waged war in 1962 and there are also occasional struggles among soldiers at the border.
Countries have deployed technology
The largest in the past period has occurred in 2020, when 20 Indian and four Chinese soldiers died. Both armies subsequently deployed tens of thousands of soldiers and heavy equipment in the mountains. Both countries managed to conclude an agreement on the de -escalation of conditions at the disputed border in October last year.
Radžnáth also met Russian Defense Minister Andrej Belousov in Ching-Tau. They discussed the supply of the Russian air defense system S-400, the modernization of the Su-30 MKI fighters and the procurement of other military material, the Indian ministry reported.
