President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT) criticized the Governor Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans) during a visit to Sao Paulo. Lula complained about the absence of the chief executive of São Paulo in an event in the Favela do Moinho.
The statements were made during the launch of a housing action focused on the nearly 900 families living in the place in central São Paulo. The initiative is the result of a partnership between the federal government and the state management. Nevertheless, the governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans), was not present at the event. According to the Bandeirantes Palace, he had another agenda, the delivery of 120 apartments in São Bernardo do Campo, in ABC Paulista.
“The governor was invited to come here. If he did not come here, it seems that he has an appointment in São Bernardo, but he was invited. Everywhere I go to the governor. I just want you to know: now you are under the care of the federal government and we will respect you.”

At the same event, he also criticized the performance of the São Paulo government in the episode of the attempt to remove families from the site.
“I have been knowing how poor people have been treated in this country for a long time. You have seen here that a concierge was signed by Minister Esther (Dweck). This concierge is not yet making the state government assignment. Because if we make the assignment and they have to occupy it here they will use the police again, and they will try to get you what you want,” he criticized.
Minister minimizes defeat in Congress
The government suffered on Wednesday, 25, a harsh defeat in Congress with the overthrow of the decree that increased the Tax on Financial Operations (IOF) and now evaluates filing the Supreme Federal Court (STF). Despite this, Lula did not comment on the subject.

Earlier, Minister Márcio Macêdo, of the General Secretariat of the Presidency, minimized the fact. “I do not see defeat of the government, I see a defeat of the country, the tax justice. I think it was a mistake this process because the IOF, as it is placed, would reach 0.8% of the population to do tax justice. It is the one who has more to pay a little more. Our country only pays tax who is salaried.”
In addition to Macêdo, Ministers Esther Dweck (Management and Innovation), Fernando Haddad (Farm), Márcio França (entrepreneurship) and Jader Filho (cities) were attended by the event.
