Group obtained 547,505 signatures validated by the Superior Electoral Court, exceeding a minimum of 547,042 required by law
The (Free Brazil Movement) was able to gather the number of signatures required for the creation of the Mission Political Party. The group obtained 547,505 supports validated by the TSE (Superior Electoral Court), according to data released on Thursday (26.jun.2025).
The amount exceeds 463 signatures the minimum necessary of 547,042 established by the Brazilian electoral legislation. The rule states that new parties need the support of voters not affiliated with any acronym, corresponding to 0.5% of the votes computed in the election for the House of Representatives of 2022.
The law also requires supports to be distributed in at least 9 states, containing in each of them at least 0.1% of the electorate who participated in the last election.
Renan Santos, one of the founders of the movement, had already declared in August 2024 that the group had obtained 550,000 signatures, which were in the process of validation by the TSE. The mobilization for subscription collection began in 2023, in a 2 -year work at this stage.
With the signatures validation, MBL may advance to the next stages of the party’s registration. The process includes the formulation of party status and the definition of the national board, documents that will still need to be approved by the Electoral Court for the officialization of the new subtitle.
