Despite recent statements from Rio de Janeiro Mayor Eduardo Paes, there is still “nothing concrete” for an NFL game in the state capital, says the director general of the Brazilian Football League in Brazil, Luis Martinez. He does not rule out, however, that games can happen not only in Rio, but in other Brazilian capitals.

“Brazil has a great advantage against other countries or territories. Starting because it has many stadiums. Not only São Paulo or Rio de Janeiro, but the most representative states, but have Belo Horizonte, Brasilia, Florianópolis. So, yes, the planning is to continue our commitment to Brazil,” Martinez told the Infoomoney Interview.

In September, the NFL holds its second match in Brazil, at the Neochemistry Arena, in São Paulo, between Los Angeles Chargers and Kansas City Chiefs. Another game was played last year, between Philadelphia Eagles and Green Bay Packers on the same stage.
