A priest of Burgos has entered prison for impersonating young people and getting erotic photos or videos. The priest is charged with a crime of exhibitionism and social, because they used them to achieve their objectives. The number of victims is not yet known. The investigation began because the relatives of one of the kids discovered photos in their mobile photos and the investigations led to this religious arrested by the National Police.
And he has offered his collaboration to resolve what happened: “Following the established canonical protocol, the archbishop has ordered the beginning of the prior research procedure and the adoption of the relevant canonical measures, among which is the precautionary suspension of the ministry.”
The arrest of man and his subsequent income in provisional prison has occurred this Wednesday. The Burgos pastor contacted his young victims and demanded photographs or videos of erotic tone with the alleged promise to send them images of their breasts, which never happened.
The events arrived at police instances a few months ago, when the relatives of one of the boys discovered that he had photographs of his genitals on his mobile and that he had been sharing them. From then on the work of the authorities began, which allowed to confirm that this false female user was actually a man and specifically the religious who has entered into prison. The National Police currently focuses on evaluating mobile terminals or cure electronic devices to check how many files of this type managed to collect and how many minors obtained them.
The Diario de Burgos has reported that the one involved “knew the boys of the parish and possessed their phone numbers, so that he had no difficulty in contacting them under a false identity.” Their strategy was to impersonate an attractive woman to seduce them once they contacted them on social networks and sent them photographs of naked women or in sexual attitudes. The parish priest promised to continue sending them more images or even see themselves in person, but demanded that the victims share with him naked images or videos and with erotic content.
The news has generated the reaction of the archbishopric of Burgos, who has offered his “total collaboration” to the family of the victims involved, whose total number is still unknown. “Given this situation, even knowing the scope of the facts, we want to express our closeness, availability and support to the victims and their families, deeply regretting the damage that has been caused.”
The Catholic entity has also reported, through a statement, that they make available to the priest “the necessary accompaniment to address this situation and offer comfort to her family.” The archbishopric has insisted that “these painful events” should not cause “fidelity” to faith.
