The farewell of one of the most striking voices of Acrean radio takes place this Saturday (28), with the funeral of broadcaster Reginaldo da Silva Cordeiro, popularly known as the “King of Brega”. The body will be veiled from 16h, in the São Francisco Chapel, in Rio Branco, with ceremony scheduled until 19h.

After the first moment of honors in the capital, the body will go to the municipality of Porto Acre, where there will be a second wake. The burial is scheduled for Sunday (29), ending the journey of one of the largest icons of popular communication in the state.
Reginaldo died on Saturday morning at the Acre Hospital Foundation, a victim of diabetes -related complications. His death generated great commotion between listeners, colleagues and admirers.
With decades on the radio, Reginaldo Cordeiro was eternalized in the public imagination by his program Carousel Musical, broadcast by the Difusora Acrean radio. His voice, charisma and passion for tacky popular music conquered generations and turned him into a symbol of local culture.
