Occurrences of alcohol use, tobacco and illicit drugs in the state school system doubled between 2022 and 2024, while management programs (Republicans) to make schools safer feature professionals.
The records are in, but with caveats and recommendations in 11 areas.
According to a court survey, the occurrences of bullying jumped from 4,739 in 2022 to 9,270 in 2024 in the school environment. In the same period, the cases of alcohol and tobacco use were from 4,877 to 9,525. Both had a 95%increase.
The records of illicit drug use in educational institutions grew 123%, with 4,655 occurrences last year compared to 2,087 in 2022, the year of the Tarcisio election.
There were also more cases in 2024 accidents, drug trafficking and alcohol and tobacco sales. As a breath, sexual harassment crime records decreased from 3,018 by 2022 to 1,413 last year, a 53%drop.
In the report, the ECA makes alert to the difficulty of the government to hire professionals for the Conviva SP program, which aims to promote the improvement of coexistence and school protection.

“This work has allowed the reduction of cases of sexual harassment in the school environment and has helped professionals in coping with other risk and vulnerability situations,” the note says.
According to the Secretariat of (Seduc), the occurrence registration system in schools was modernized and was integrated with other state agencies, which guarantees agile responses and constant reception to students.
Seduc also says it has hired 1,000 vigilantes for the school round, 13,000 teachers and increased to 633 the number of professionals in the school psychologists.
“The network has 633 coexistence advisory teachers, who work daily in raising awareness of students to promote a culture of respect, dialogue and mediation of conflict,” says the government.
