More than half of Brazilians say he is ashamed of the ministers of the (Supreme Federal Court), points out. According to the institute, the index of those who are proud of the court is 30%, while the shame bears 58%.

The research asked interviewees if they were “more proud than shame or more shame than pride” of a series of institutions, groups and people.

Datafolha interviewed 2,004 people in 136 municipalities on June 10 and 11. The search margin of the research is two percentage points, more or less.

The Supreme Court has gained protagonism in recent years by conducting judgments of politicians, such as monthly and resources on Lava Jato, and controversial topics in public opinion, such as abortion of anencephalic fetuses, same -sex civil union and others.

Some of his ministers faced wear when participating in events abroad by entrepreneurs and were frequent targets of attacks by the former president (PL) as a result of decisions made during the Covid pandemic and, in the event of the conduct of surveys investigating undemocratic acts.

The former president was also declared ineligible in 2023 by the (Superior Electoral Court), with two votes of ministers who also work in the STF, Moraes e.

No wonder, the rate of shame or pride of the court magistrates is strongly aligned with the political-party preference of the interviewees.

Among Bolsonaro’s declared supporters, a defendant in a criminal case that is being tried by the first class of the Court, which analyzes the former president’s participation in the coup plot to keep him in power after those of 2022, the rate of shame in relation to the court reaches 82%. In this group, only 12% declare themselves proud of the ministers.

Among President Lula’s voters, ministers have proud majority: 52%, against 36% they say they are ashamed. Those who do not know add up to 12%.

Similarly, ministers are more approved by those who consider the current government great or good, a slice in which 57% declare themselves proud of the Supreme Court. Already among those who consider the management Lula bad or terrible, this number falls to 10%.

The highest rate of shame appears among those who declare to have a preference for, beating at 91%, against only 5% pride. Among those who prefer, pride surpasses shame, but with much lower difference: 53% against 36%.

The popularity of the ministers is also inferior among evangelicals. In this group, 66% say they are ashamed of the magistrates, and only 22% declare pride. Among the Catholics, the embarrassed fall to 56%, and the proud rise to 33%.

The pronounced polarization between PT and PL voters is not repeated in the indexes related to another institution: AS. According to Datafolha, 55% of Brazilians are more proud than the shame of the military, and 36%, the opposite.

The Numbers of the Armed Forces are within the margin of error when comparing voters from the parties of Lula and Bolsonaro. In the first case, 52% say they are proud of the institution, and in the second there are 54%.

The difference is slightly higher among the declared voters of each of the politicians in 2022, with 51% of Lulist voters stating pride against 60% of the pockets.

Datafolha shows that the military has prestige among the younger ones. The age group of 16 to 24 years had the highest proud rate, with 65%.

The feeling of pride falls into the following age groups. The lowest pride rate is among the population of 60 or older, with 46%. Already the largest level of shame of the Armed Forces is one of those who are between 45 and 60 years, beating 43%. In this group, the approval to the military is 49%, and 9% say they do not know.
